IT and information systems
Our coordinated IT-system is vital component part of our integrated logistics. By reading and identifying barcodes, this support system is able to monitor the location of each individual goods item in the logistics chain and when it is estimated to reach the end customer. The customer has the option of following the movement of the goods by computer. Similar systems have been in use previously for land shipments but are infrequent in combination with industrial maritime transport. These systems are up and running at some of our business units and are planned to be used by the other units.
