The Business Area Industrial Shipping provides smart logistics solutions and reliable sea transports. We base our operations on our customers' transport needs, and solve them in a cost efficient and environmentally sound way. By our bulk, container and RoRo vessels we transport goods for our customers that primarily come from the forest, steel, energy and mining industry. We combine this with a logistics infrastructure in Europe, our own terminals at strategic sites as well as networks for supplementary overland transport
We have some 50 ice classed vessels at our disposal and are presented in 7 European countries. We are experiencing strong march ahead and an exciting future where we focus on the development, efficiency and refinement by broadening our range of services and IT-related services.
In June 2011 TransAtlantic acquired the shipping and logistics company Österströms. We have been working very intense with the integration process ever since and are now able to provide a broadened range of efficient transport service. As the new company entered we restructured our organisation. The business area today consists of five divisions; Bulk, Container, RoRo, Short Sea Bulk and Integrated Logistics. Österströms has started a name changing process. The company now market all services under the TransAtlantic brand.
